Our regular look at Salesforce Commerce Cloud focuses on an overview of the 18.5 Release.
What is it?
Every six weeks or so Salesforce releases a new update for the platform - the 18.5 Release includes the ability to add products which are not available but orderable in the XML Sitemap for better SEO and a new pagination UI component for greater user experience in Customer Service Center.
Why do I care?
Previously products that were unavailable even if temporarily, would disappear out of the XML sitemap which could cause a lack of indexing for search engines. Now those products can be included in the sitemap for better SEO coverage.
Customer Service Center is another cool feature which I already shared with you. If you missed it, here's a presentation from back in 2016 when I first introduced you to Customer Service Center. Salesforce Commerce Cloud constantly improve it and sometimes great ideas are very simple like what has been added to this release - new pagination. This new UI component makes it even easier for your team to place customer orders.
What do I need to know?
These two are only a couple of the features in this new release. If you want you can read the full changelog here. Version 18.5 is generally available at the moment only on SIG (Secondary Instance Group - Sandboxes and development).
