Our regular look at Salesforce Commerce Cloud focuses on the Catalog Module Rollback.
What is it?
Earlier this year in February, Commerce Cloud launched a new catalog module that was set as the default catalog capability for all customers. However this new catalog module did not meet the GA criteria, therefore Commerce Cloud has made the decision to revert back to the previous version of the catalog user interface today (April 10th).
Why do I care?
To be fair, there is no action you need to take. Commerce Cloud will reset the default to the previous catalog module and will remove the link to the new catalog module. Once done, you will see this change reflected in your Business Manager settings.
What do I need to know?
We have mixed thoughts here at Blueleaf as the feature was very much a marmite discussion; some of the team loved it and some prefered the original. Thankfully, there is no impact to the shopping experience but if you do have any questions or concerns do check with your CSM or SI.
