Our regular look at Salesforce Commerce Cloud this week gives you a brief overview of Business Manager restriction by IP address.

What is it?

One of the simple tenets of security is to restrict the number of people who can access a system. One way to do that is to narrow the number of locations that can access a log in system. Business manager can now only allow certain IP addresses to access the tool. This means you could restrict it to your company network and your SI's network only.

Why do I care?

Security is an increasingly hot topic, as compliance becomes more important, and data breaches are frequent and of ever more importance to the public's trust. So any straightforward measures people can take to secure their data to production systems in particular are worth consideration.

What do I need to know?

Settings can be set in Administration > Global Preferences > Security. Do discuss with your IT and SI teams ahead of making changes.
