Our regular look at Salesforce Commerce Cloud this week gives you a brief overview of the 18.8 release (which is available either today, 7th August or 14th August, depending on your POD).

What is it?

18.8 is the next release of Commerce Cloud and contains a number of new features and functionalities. We'll focus on SEO meta tags that is now in general availability after being in beta. Also, the Site URLs section of Business Manager will be renamed 'SEO' in case you think it's gone missing.

Why do I care?

Meta tags can now be built using a rules based engine inside business manager. This makes it easier to develop unique meta tags per product and page, without having to hand craft them each time or to only do a small subset of products.

What do I need to know?

Many CC clients may already have rules based meta (like we have deployed for clients) which are built into the templating engine. There may need to be some changes to now use the business manager versions instead. You can read more about this in the release video which is here in the community portal.
