Co-operative Energy (part of the national
Co-operative brand) launched in late 2010, setting out to offer a fair, ethical alternative to the 'Big 6'.

The big online launch

As a new entrant to the market, Co-operative Energy needed a digital agency with a proven track record in their industry. We had the perfect experience to launch them online and develop everything from their customer sign-up process through to account management. Our flexible and responsive approach saw everything ready within two months, leading to a fast and powerful launch that made quite a splash. The site smashed its initial launch targets in just six months.

Maximising
sign-up

One of the most important goals for any energy company's website is to sign up new customers. We invested a lot of UX expertise and testing in creating a streamlined instant quote and sign-up process. We've kept up the good work since the site launched with conversion rate optimisation projects, improving results all the time.

Simple self-service

In addition to signing up new customers at a rate of knots, it's essential that we look after existing customers and do everything we can to help them self-manage their accounts. We designed and built an intuitive 'my account' section for the website, allowing customers to submit meter readings, view statements and make payments all as easily as flicking a switch. This not only gives the customer a great experience, it also saves the client money by reducing the number of customer service calls.

In-store sign-up

Looking to make the most of the wider brand's customer base, Co-operative Energy needed an iPad application to sign people up in-store via customer service agents. The challenge we faced was that with no guarantee of WiFi, the system would need to run quickly on the slowest mobile data networks, giving shoppers instant quotes and sign-ups. The project achieved great success due to the speed and reliability of our solution.
