The challenge
Angling is one of the biggest sports in the UK, with over 3.5 million regular participants, but it has an image problem of being a sedentary sport. With the government's policy of only investing in sports that increase people's levels of activity and help them keep fit, this is an image which the sport must shake off if it is to develop. The Angling Development Board was formed to provide a single cohesive voice for the sport, a voice that government ministers would hear, trust and invest in.
The solution
We have been instrumental since the ADB formed in helping them deliver the right message, to the right audience, at the right time. A distinctive brand was created to set the tone for the organisation. Stunning lifestyle photography was art directed on a two-day day shoot at various locations and engaging materials were designed to launch the organisation and communicate its policies and objectives.
The results
The work is helping the ADB establish authority, attract a more active audience and work towards winning increased investment to the sport.
What did the client say?
"As a new organisation, one of our biggest hurdles has been to establish credibility quickly and to
change perceptions of the sport. I have no doubt whatsoever that Blueleaf are critical in helping us
achieve both these goals"
Julian Taylor - Development Officer, Angling Development Board
