Our latest recruit is Project Manager, Rob Forster. We know Rob’s talented because managing Director Rob Smith has allowed him to join the team without changing his name. So, seeing as Rob is with us and we’re still calling him Rob, this can only mean he’s a project management machine.
In 'Browse' tradition, we caught up with Rob 2 to find out about his experience and what he’ll bring to the role:
So first off Rob, tell us more about your role here at Blueleaf?
I’m working with clients such as the Red Bull Racing F1 team, Toro Rosso F1 team, Red Bull World Series events such as Cliff Diving and Air Race and also working on new projects such as Harlequins Rugby Club. It's fair to say, I got very lucky with my clients! It is a varying and challenging role, but one I'm very much excited about and loving every minute of the daily challenge and making a difference. Particularly as F1 is a passion of mine so that’s a job bonus.
I manage day-to-day enquiries from clients, plan and set up projects, work with the Design and Development teams and ensure delivery of gold standard work to all our clients.
Sounds great, what's your experience and how are you hoping to make a difference here at Blueleaf?
My background is primarily Project Management in retail marketing and store development, dealing with large UK retailers and facilitating their marketing strategies through managing their store installation projects - whether it was as small as POS or as large as complete fixture installation and merchandising. I worked with many large, well-known UK retailers over the years and gained experience managing high-level, high-budget projects with sometimes unnervingly quick turnarounds!
I then gained the opportunity to come and work in digital and ecommerce at Blueleaf, which is the area I’ve always seen as my future career path. I am hoping to bring my experience, personality and dedication to Blueleaf and the role, and make a difference not only on the projects I look after but to the wider team and the organisation. I want to build a long and successful career here at Blueleaf.
What made you choose us and so far, is it what you expected?
I chose Blueleaf because I instantly recognised that this is the role and organisation that aligns with my personal and career ambitions, as well as my personal values. So far, I am pleased to say it has not only met my expectations but it's far exceeded them! The team at Blueleaf have been so welcoming, friendly and willing to help me learn and develop. There is a fantastic support structure in place and Blueleaf truly do look after their employees and their development, which is a key attribute for me in my career and one of the many reasons I knew Blueleaf was right for me. I am getting busier by the day with some fantastic new Red Bull projects, so it’s a very exciting time!
What do you get up to when you're not at your desk?
I’m a massive sports enthusiast, playing (when my dodgy hip and back allow me) football and swimming and I’m an avid snooker and pool player. I also enjoy watching sport; my main passions being football (huge Liverpool FC fan), Boxing and Formula 1.
Aside from sports, I enjoy socialising with friends and holidays - my travelling days are now behind me though.
I recently got engaged so my time is also spent planning an engagement party and soon a wedding - not that I have much to say in that. We also have plans to purchase our first home on the horizon (the plans, not the home).
