In November 2014 Blueleaf launched a new ecommerce website for Irish sportswear retailer, Life Style Sports. You may remember seeing the article about it in November’s edition of browse.

Once the new website launched, with bold imagery and a seamless user experience, Life Style Sports approached us about developing a new blog to make it more in line with the rest of their website. We’re delighted to say that this new blog went live in August.  

The design of the blog has had a radical overhaul and we’ve introduced a magazine style with large, impactful imagery and beautiful typography. This, along with an improved layout makes for an engaging, high-quality experience that sits alongside the bold imagery used throughout the website. And like the rest of the website, the blog is responsive across desktop, table and mobile.

We explored different platforms at the outset of this project and settled on WordPress. For this activity, it proved the most user-friendly and makes updating the blog simple and time-efficient for the Life Style Sports marketing team.

Careful consideration has been given to different customer journeys and articles have been categorised by key searches such as, football, rugby, fitness and fashion.

A key element of the blog is its seamless integration with the main Life Style Sports website. This integration is twofold - if the user clicks on a product in the blog, they will be taken straight to the product page on the website. Alternatively, if the user is shopping on the website, perhaps looking at football boots, underneath the product they will be offered relevant football-related content on the blog.

The blog has also been integrated with social media. Articles are easily shared on Facebook and Twitter and Twitter hashtags are prominent on all the articles so readers can engage further if they wish.

These added-value integrations offer the user a more pleasing experience.
